Stuart Scott, you will be missed. RIP

i can't begin to imagine the pain his two beautiful daughters have experienced today. watching Rich Eisen's eulogy this am on the NFL Network brought so many tears.

Mr. Scott lived a full life and never once gave up in his fight against cancer. he had such a positive effect on people and had more courage than i could ever have in that situation.  he and Coach Valvano had incredible moments at the ESPYs that will live on way past my lifetime.

i am so thankful to him for changing the landscape of sports journalism and living his life on his terms. cancer is such a cruel disease and has taken too many people at too young an age. we can only hope that a cure will be found sooner than later.

OMG people exhaust me

the current fuss from the right over POTUS and the first lady because they ate at a fancy restaurant is embarrassing. of course fnc started with the attention grabbing headlines and the firestorm erupted.

there are so many things we should be worried about and where they ate on their vacation is last on my list.

i suspect that the restaurant comped their meal and is it really anyone's business? it is odd that a movement built around letting people make their own decisions constantly obsesses over what other people do with their time and money.

there is a reason that both parties constantly trot out the same crappy candidates. would you want to actually win and have to deal with this shit? i for one would not take a job in government leadership because your rights as a private citizen are stripped by the very people you represent.

the only constant we will have is a string of pathetic candidates that are in it for themselves and their backers. the needs of the people will continue to be ignored and exploited. we deserve a lot better.

why living infj?

in my pursuit of self learning and therapy over the past few years i discovered the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory (source: MBTI) which was developed in the 40s and 50s.  it is a simple testthat many studies have discounted as not being accurate.  that said, i took it and did a lot of reading to see where i fit in the spectrum.

i have taken this test along with StrengthsFinder 2.0 to better understand why i approach things the way i do. the MBTI said i was an infj and i believe that this simple test pegged me fairly accurately.

"The INFJ personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As Diplomats (NF), they have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is the accompanying Judging (J) trait – INFJs are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact." it has been a bumping ugly few years, but i do think i am in a better place now. this blog will be my creative outlet to write about things that interest me. the only guarantee i can make is it will probably be all over the map.

housekeeping at the beginning of the year

boring diet plans

opening accountability stats:

opening weight - 214.1
bodyfat from Fitbit Aria Scale 30.8%

this is a bit depressing since i am up 45 lbs and 20% in bf in the last 7 years.  so much fun and my body is definitely showing it.

the aggressive diet and exercise will begin next week after my birthday. :-)

will be cleaning out my freezer and consuming the food i bought from Personal Trainer Food. you should check them out since they do take a ton of work out of the food prep cycle. it is expensive, but when you compare it to eating out and buying your own groceries it is not too bad.

also going to add some dvd workouts to my routine.  30 lbs down is my goal for end of may.
